More than 50m tourists come to Spain each year, yet you could travel for days and not hear anyone speak anything but Spanish. A large country with the main tourist destinations (the Costas - Costa Blanca, Costa Dorada, Costa Brava, Catalunya) located on the East and Southern coasts (Costa del Sol, Torremolinos, Fuengirola, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Malaga, Mijas). Barcelona, increasingly popular of late due to the growth of low cost airlines making it more accessible for less is also close to the Eastern beach resorts making it a great day out from beach stays. Madrid is probably the largest city attraction inland with Western Spain virtually in touched in comparison.

Spain is a year round resort with most of the Costas open for business throughout the UK winter. The Spanish festivals are mostly concentrated between Semana Santa (the week before Easter Sunday) and Sept - Oct. The weather, you can generally rely on in Spain, hot summers and very reasonable winters often in the 60's hence attracting a large influx of retired couples who often stay for the whole winter.

Although the traditional Spanish Tapas is readily available and of course unbeatably delicious, English food is wide spread, the demand is of course there! as is probably every other nationality cuisine!
